Q: Calling all Subaru Legacy 2.5i Owners?
Hi all, I am thinking of buying a 2008-9 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited, but want to find out what the owners think of it. I want to find out the reliablity, real life gas mileage (city and hwy) and maintenance cost. I am not planning to do any mods or any kind of tricking out. Just want a good, reliable, everyday commuter car that will drive me 70 - 75 miles everyday on the backroads of Maryland. Thank you all in advance.

A: HI, i own a 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5i, it has had NO problems, and it has 97,000miles! i had the brakes done at 93,000 for the first time as well. Believe it or not, i easily get 32mpg on the highway,25 in the city, even though its rated at 26. It goes through 3 feet of snow with no problems Honestly, im on my 4th Subaru, and i cant understand why everyone doesn't drive these cars, they are reliable, safe, affordable, fuel efficient, and great cars. Buy it, or else you'll regret it come winter.

Q: Subaru Lagacy changed?
I am going to buy a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. But i saw on wikipedia that the current new style legacy is still under the same 2003 model...Does that actually mean that i am buying a car that is just redesigned? Can someone confirm that it is really the same thing just under a different body? My point is that i dn't want to buy a car that will go out of style in 2 or 3 years when it is redisigned again. thanks

A: Cars don't go "out of style" when a new model is introduced. Some new models are particularly fashionable, but cars are not, for the most part (and NEVER when you're looking at mid-sized sedans) subject to fads like clothing or music. Also, it is usually better to buy a car from shortly BEFORE a major revision, because those usually have fewer problems than models within the first 2 or 3 years AFTER a major revision. Also, if you actually read the text of the Wikipedia article, the current generation Legacy was a 2004 model in North America.

Q: How to install sirius radio in a car that is equipt for it?!?!?
So i have a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited Edition Sedan and one of its many features is that it comes Satallite ready. The dealer made it seem like it was so simply and all I had to do was call Sirius and get a code or what not. I HAVE a sirius radio account and have one set up in my Pathfinder and had another one in an older surbaru that I had ((but no longer use cuz that car died lol)) so signing up is not the issue here. Once I got the new car car and was playing around with it and reading the options, it says i NEED some sort of reciever for the Sirius to work in the car so I call the dealer and they tell me its going to be 400 bucks to install and I thought that was absoutely CRAZY!!!! So basically what I'm asking is, IS there somewhere else I can take the car to get it hooked up for a better price; some where like Bestbuy or some where near where I live which is in Chicago, or is there a way to do it myself?!?! ~Jackie I KNOW how sirius WORK on my SUBARU RADIO dial whatever its called it say SAT so all i need is to connect some stuff BEHIND THE RADIO not on the windshield or NOTHING but the dealer WANTS to basically take all my money for it and its just stupid i need a RECIEVER and some on to connect it DIRECTLY to the radio cuz my CAR radio will control it but WHO will do it?

A: If you want your radio to control the Sirius function you most likely need the suburu part. Maybe you could buy the part then have a shop install it. Call Auto Alarm Center 773-880-5900 (Ashland & Wellington). They have been in business forever maybe they have another solution for you. Good Luck

Q: 2008 impreza 2.0i vs. legacy vs. certified used A4(2006)?
I need an AWD car. i was thinking about A4 certified used...but i heard that a4 residual value is awful...(i.e. it goes to like $5,000 after 50,000 miles...) is this true? i did research on kbb.com and it says its not... this is what i heard: 1.A4 has a turbo charge engine, which needs to be replaced around 50,000 miles and this costs couple thousands 2. if i were to buy a 2006 A4 and i want to sell it in 4 years, it would be 6 years old and according to my friend who had an A4 says it will be worth less than the $24,000 new impreza or legacy(i.e. 2008) if I know that it can hold its value..(at least be worth as much as a 2008 subaru) then i would spend my $25,000 on the used 2006 A4... HELP~

A: Actually they hold there value pretty well. there are m much higher end car than a Subaru (although i like Subaru's for a non premium make) a if you could find a 6 year old Audi with 50K miles on it for 5K i would buy it in a second (you cant unless its been wrecked) there is a link below to 6 year old Audi A4s an you'll see they are still averaging about $15K. Look in the 2nd link and see that the depreciation on a A4 is well below average. so who every told you that Audi's have low residuals was making a generalization ( a $120K A8 has high depreciation as do many of its competitors b/c people who buy in that price range buy new cars so the used ones take a huge hit in resale value 3rd link) last link is the residuals for a subaru Legacy, Now if you look at the 4th and 5th link the same argument can be made for Subaru in the 4th link a legacy that holds its value well (2.5 limited) and in the 5th link a Subaru that has high depreciation (GT spec B). if you bought a spec be you might tell people that Subaru's don't hold there value well which would be a generalization ( just like when someone tells you lexus's are all reliable not true in fact the GS line is one of the least reliable sedans in its class) to answer your question go with the Audi it has higher than average residuals (as does the Subaru legacy 2.5i limited) and is allot of car for the money. buying certified used is probably the best way to go because you also don't have the initial depreciation hit the the original owner had when he drove it off the lot (true of all cars)

Q: I wanted everyones opinion on the 2008 Subaru?
Legacy series of cars. I'm looking to get rid of my 2000 S10 with 153K for a new family car. The car looks great, love the AWD, and the way the car handles in bad weather..great for the midwest. Would like everyones input..thanks!

A: they aren't too bad but i prefer the Impreza ;)

Q: need suggestions for custom license plate?
i have a 2008 Subaru Legacy Spec B im pretty sure i can only have 6 letters max but maybe 7 ideas: SPECB (SPEC-B, SPEC B, SPEC.B... something like this) LGTSP (Legacy GT SpecB) something along these lines but any suggestions welcome... thanks.

A: not an answer to your ? but nice ride man! I have wanted one of those for ever! I had an Sti and WRX and a Legacy but a spec b legacy is a dream........... one day

Q: Subaru Legacy or Mazda 6?
I am in the market for a new "used" car. I am looking into Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited and Mazda 6i, either 2007 or 2008. I research around and noticed that both have almost same "real-world" gas mileage. The Subaru costs a little more than Mazda, I can get a 2007 Legacy for around 17k with under 20k miles and can get a 6 for around 15k with under 20k. The only issue for me that Mazda cost more to insure for some reason. Cant figure out why, Subaru has bigger engine, more power, more luxury costs a little more, yet its cheaper to insure. Which one will you guys recommend? I am a fan of Mazdas and had quite a few Mazdas and was very happy with them, but over all I have heard that Subaru Legacy are even better than Mazdas. Pros of Subaru are, of course, 4WD, leather interior, climate control, bigger boxer engine, more power and torque, Mazda do not have any of these except Traction Control and cheaper price. Any input will be perfect. Thank you all in advance.

A: I own and love the 6, but in this case I would go with Subaru 1 both cars are great; Think if you were buying the 6 and could buy an premium package. for 2K AWD, Leather seats and traction control? Sounds like a steal upgrade for only 2k difference. Plus, the difference is not really 2K. it's less then that in the end, since the insurance is cheaper. But I live in a snowy place... my eyes jumps out when I see AWD and stability control :)

Q: You have a choice of purchasing following cars:?
2005 BMW 325i with 21K miles - $21000 2008 Mazda 3 New - $21000 2008 Subaru Legacy New - $22000 2005 Lexus GS300 with 40K miles - $24500 You choice and why?

A: Depends on how long you are planning on keeping the car. You really need to keep a new car for more than 5 years in order to justify paying the extra cost and deprecation. Since I keep my cars for 10 or more years, I would definitely go with the 3.

Q: Subaru Legacy GT Limited '05 vs '08 with $10 difference?
Hi, I am deciding between buying used Legacy GT Limited 2005 with 32,000 miles and 6 year 100.000 miles warranty. I do have second thoughts about buying a new GT 2008 for about $30.000 Can someone share their knowledge or experience on this? Thanks a lot! The price of used GT Limited is $20.999 at dealer

A: I think you should be fine with the '05 model since it has a lot of powertrain warranty left. I would play it safe and look for signs of abuse, neglect or modification before purchasing. If the vehicle looks like it has always been stock and has been maintained properly you should have no problems with it. Also, is the warranty you are talking about the Subaru extended warranty? Make sure it can be transfered to you.

Q: bmw 525i or subaru legacy B4?
which of these two machines is the ultimate in terms of ride comfort, power, and style. the model year is 2008.

A: bmw is nice subaru is at half the price, both should be good but is subaru way cheaper, and they do have many innovations, i have driven both brands in different years and styles and subaru has come a long way. bmw should have more power the rest is your choice, look for buyer incentivies in this market if brand new.

Q: All the money in the world can't buy me happiness.?
Even with my great career, i'm not completely happy. Even with my Bachelor's degree, I am not completely happy. Even with my brand new 2008 Subaru Legacy, I am not completely happy. Even with my new custom gaming rig, I am not completely happy. Even with a great loving family, I am not completely happy. Even after buying anything I want or desire, even the latest generation iPod, I am not completely happy. Even after hanging out with my best friends, I am not completely happy. Why am I not happy? Something is missing in my life.. what is it?

A: subaru legacy? i think you answered your own question. lol. jk (sort of) you need a special lady friend...
